La boutique

Since the 1990s, Christophe Lauduique, a seasoned collector, has traveled the roads of France to find the folding knives of our fathers and grandfathers. A cutler by passion, a descendant of Michel Tissot, a remouleur in 1828, he is now an Artisan coutelier, a companion of the Confrérie du couteau de Thiers and an Artisan d’Art des Pyrénées-Atlantiques. He has published two books which have become reference works for all lovers of fine blades: “Couteaux pliants de nos provinces” tome 1 and tome 2. In these two books, he presents some 300 knives, past and present. With his friend Pierre-Yves Javel, he collaborated on “L’Almanach du Couteau”. L’atelier du Couteau Basque also exhibits a collection unique in France of over 1,000 folding knives representing French regions from the 18thcentury to the present day.
