This knife was inspired by a shape found on the lintel of a house in the village of Irissarry, in the Basque Country. Its author, Francisco de Aguerre, was a barber and cutler in 1695. Basque sheep horn handle. Engraving of the Basque cross (Lauburu) on the blade.

Description

This knife was inspired by a shape found on the lintel of a house in the village of Irissarry, in the Basque Country. The maker, Francisco de Aguerre, was a barber and cutler in 1695.

The yatagan-shaped blade is reminiscent of Spanish penknives. Handle of Basque sheep horn. Stainless steel blade 12C27. Guillochage on the blade of 7 “S” representing the seven Basque provinces.
