Description
This knife was inspired by a shape found on the lintel of a house in the Basque village of Irissarry. Its maker, Francisco de Aguerre, was a barber-cutter in 1695.
The yatagan-shaped blade echoes that of Spanish navajas (traditional folding knives). Handle in scarified medlar wood, the famous wood used to make the Makila, the Basque stick, since the early 19th century. 12C27 stainless steel blade engraved with the Basque cross. Guillochage on the blade of 7 “S” representing the seven Basque provinces.
