This Basque knife is inspired by a shape found on the lintel of a house in the village of Irissarry, in the Basque Country. Its maker, Francisco de Aguerre, was a barber and cutler in 1695.

Description

This knife was inspired by a shape found on the lintel of a house in the village of Irissarry, in the Basque Country. Its maker, Francisco de Aguerre, was a barber and cutler in 1695.

The yatagan-shaped blade is similar to that of Spanish penknives. Black horn-tipped handle. Stainless steel blade 12C27. Guillochage on the blade of 7 “S” representing the seven Basque provinces.
