Description
Shape inspired by traditional Basque shepherd’s knives dating from the Middle Ages. The “sage leaf” blade is one of the oldest shapes in the Pyrenees.
The system, dating from the 12th century, is known as the “two-nail” system, with a pin to allow the blade to pivot and a stop to stop it in the open position.
Unhardened XC75 carbon steel blade. Handle in Basque ewe’s horn with Basque cross (Lauburu) engraved in the old-fashioned way with a hot branding iron. Guillochage on top of blade.
Dimensions: closed knife length: 115 mm. Open knife length: 195 mm.
