Betiko Basque knife. Inspired by the traditional knives from the south of the Basque Country, in Hegoalde, dating from the 17th century. The handle is made of Basque sheep horn, with a black head bolster. Unhardened Xc75 carbon steel blade with the Basque cross carved into the steel.

Description

Betiko Basque knife. Inspired by the traditional Hegoalde knives from the south of the Basque Country, dating back to the 17th century.

The blade is shaped like a “cow’s tongue”. The system is called “two nails”. One nail allows the blade to pivot, the other stops the blade in the open position.

The handle is made of Basque sheep horn, black-headed manech. The blade is unhardened Xc75 carbon steel, with the Basque cross carved into the steel.

Guillochage on the top of the blade of the 7 “S” representing the 7 Basque provinces.

Dimensions: length of the closed knife: 125 mm. Length of the open knife: 210 mm.
