Betiko Basque knife. Inspired by traditional 17th-century Hegoalde knives from the southern Basque Country.
The blade is shaped like a “cow’s tongue”. The system is called “two nails”. One pin allows the blade to pivot, the other stops the blade in the open position.
The handle is made of Basque ewe’s horn, with a black-headed manech engraved with an old-style Basque cross. Unhardened Xc75 carbon steel blade, with the Basque cross cut into the steel.
Guillochage on the top of the blade of the 7 “S” representing the 7 Basque provinces.
