Shape inspired by traditional Basque shepherd’s knives dating from the Middle Ages. The “sage leaf” blade is one of the oldest shapes in the Pyrenees.
The system, dating from the 12th century, is known as the “two-nail” system, with a pin to allow the blade to pivot and a stop to stop it in the open position.
Unhardened XC75 carbon steel blade. Saint Jean de Luz olive wood handle engraved with the Basque cross (Lauburu). Guillochage on top of blade.
Dimensions: knife length closed: 115 mm. Open knife length: 195 mm.
