Shape inspired by traditional Basque shepherd’s knives from the Middle Ages.

The “sage leaf” blade is one of the oldest shapes in the Pyrenees.

The system, dating from the 12th century, is known as the “two-nail” system, with a pin to allow the blade to pivot and a stop to stop it in the open position.

Unhardened XC75 carbon steel blade. Handle in black-headed Basque ewe’s horn, engraved with the Basque cross (Lauburu) with old-style hot-iron branding. Guillochage on the top of the blade of 7 “S” representing the seven Basque provinces.

Dimensions: closed knife length: 115 mm. Length open knife: 195 mm.
