Olive wood basque knife

This Basque knife from 1722 is engraved on the lintel of a house in Cambo-Les-Bains. Its shape is reminiscent of the traditional Basque discoid stele.

Flat notch” system. Handle of olive wood grained Saint Jean de Luz. Stainless steel blade 12C27 Guillochage on the blade of 7 “S” representing the seven Basque provinces. Engraving of the Basque cross (Lauburu ) on the left stele.
