Jacques Mongin, Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 1965, a world-renowned cutler, has a motto: “Nature provides the material, man’s hand turns it into a masterpiece”.

The Deer Antler Crown Knife was made in his Biesles workshop, opened in 1956.

Biesles, close to the town of Chaumont, has been one of the Haute-Marne’s cutlery-producing towns since the 19th century, where almost all the inhabitants worked either in the factory or at home.

Like all other knives from the Mongin workshop, this clasp is signed in an oval at the base of the blade.

Blade: yatagan-shaped stainless steel with mirror-polished tab.

Handle: deer antler. System: ratchet blade with ring.
